Cafe and restaurant websites with your hours, address and menu up front.
The three things a hungry person looks for, on the first screen of their phone. From $1,500 + GST, or from $2,500 + GST with table bookings and a menu you update yourself.
The menu online is out of date, and so are the hours.
Specials change, prices go up, and the public holiday hours never quite make it online. Customers turn up to a closed door or ask for a dish you stopped making months ago.
And if the only place people can find you is a third-party listing or a delivery app, you are relying on someone else's page to tell them who you are.
A site that answers the questions before they ring.
- Your opening hours, address and a map at the top of the page
- Your menu as a proper page that reads well on a phone
- An "Order online" button linking to your Uber Eats, DoorDash or Menulog pages, if you use them
- Your Google Business Profile set up or tidied, including your hours, so you show correctly on Google Maps
- Up to four pages, a contact form, and the domain and hosting set up
- Menu, price and hours changes by email on the monthly plan, up to 30 minutes a month
With the works, from $2,500 + GST, you also get:
- Table bookings, either built into your site or by connecting a booking service you already use
- A menu and gallery you can update yourself, whenever the specials change
- Card payments through Stripe, paid straight into your own account
I don't build online ordering or delivery systems. If you're on a delivery app, your site links to it. Not the right fit for big online shops, enterprise systems, anything that needs a team on call around the clock, or anything that needs a hand-coded build.
Fixed price, quoted before anything starts
Website
From $1,500 + GST. Up to four pages, a contact form, domain, hosting and Google set up. Live in a fortnight once your content is in.
Website with the works
From $2,500 + GST. Bookings or quote requests, payments, and a gallery or menu you update yourself. Usually three to four weeks.
Keep it running is $80 a month + GST: hosting, domain renewal, backups, up to 30 minutes of menu, price and hours changes a month, and I fix it when it breaks. No lock-in.
The fortnight, day by day
- Day 1We talk, and you get a fixed quote the same day.
- Day 2You get a short content checklist: your menu, hours, photos and logo. The fortnight starts when your content is in.
- Day 4First version, at a real address you can open on your phone.
- Day 5Your changes. Two rounds are included.
- Day 8Second version.
- Day 9Your changes.
- Day 14Live.
This is the timeline for the standard site. With table bookings and payments, it is usually three to four weeks, and the quote says exactly how long.
Live things I have built.
There are no cafe or restaurant sites to show yet. What I can point to is my own work, which I built and still run: Blinker, an Australian app with accounts and payments, and StackFall Arena, an online multiplayer game.
The things people ask first
Can I change the menu myself?
With the works, yes: you can update your menu and gallery whenever you like. On the standard site, email me the changes: up to 30 minutes a month are included in the monthly plan.
Can you take photos of the food?
No, photography isn't something I offer. Good phone photos work well, though. Send me what you have and I'll pick and tidy the best ones. If you want professional shots, you'll need to book a food photographer yourself.
Can customers book a table?
Yes, with the works. Bookings can be built into your site or handled by connecting a booking service you already use, and I recommend one in your quote.
Do you set up online ordering?
I don't build ordering or delivery systems. If you are on Uber Eats, DoorDash or Menulog, your site gets an "Order online" button that links to your pages there.
Tell me what you need
One person, start to finish, and a fixed price before anything starts. Send a few lines about your venue and you get a quote back the same day.
