The short version: this site collects nothing about you unless you get in touch. If you do, what you send goes to my inbox and nowhere else, and you can ask me to delete it at any time.
Fortnight Sites is run by Jordan, a sole trader based in Melbourne, Australia. I build websites and small apps for small businesses. You can reach me at info@fortnightsites.com.au.
The contact form sends your message straight to my email inbox. Nothing you type is stored on the website itself. My email is provided by Google (Gmail), so your message is stored there, and Google's own privacy policy applies to how they store it.
The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare receives your IP address and standard connection details when your browser loads a page, and keeps short-lived logs to run and protect the service. I don't use those logs to identify visitors.
The site's fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser also sends a request to Google's servers when the page loads. Google says it does not use those requests to track people across the web.
To reply to you, quote for work, and then build and look after your site. That's it. I don't add you to a mailing list, and I don't send marketing unless you ask for it.
Nobody, beyond the services that make the site and my email work: Cloudflare and Google. I never sell or trade personal information. If you become a client I may need to enter your details into services on your behalf, such as a domain registrar or a booking or payment provider, and I'll tell you when I do. I would also disclose information if the law required it.
Some of these providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. By contacting me you're okay with that.
Enquiries stay in my inbox so I can pick the conversation back up if you come back later. Client records are kept for as long as I'm working with you, and for the period Australian tax law requires afterwards, which is currently five years for financial records. Ask me to delete an enquiry and I will.
You can ask me at any time to tell you what I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email info@fortnightsites.com.au and I'll sort it, usually within a few days. If you're not happy with how I've handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Websites I build for clients belong to those clients. If you're visiting one of them, their privacy policy applies, not this one. Part of my job is helping clients write one that's honest about what their site does.
If I change how the site works in a way that affects your privacy, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
